What is it?
CourseCost was developed from everyday use at TMS of South Tampa. It helps practice staff turn verified benefits and their practice’s rates into a patient-facing estimate and a detailed staff calculation.
The app accounts for deductibles, coinsurance, copays, out-of-pocket limits, and treatment courses that cross a benefit-year reset. It supports commercial insurance, Medicare-related scenarios, and self-pay arrangements.
A projected claim-by-claim ledger helps staff understand the calculation and compare it with actual claim processing. The app does not retrieve benefits from insurers, submit claims, or replace insurer adjudication.
Practice settings, rates, and logos are saved locally. Estimates are calculated on the Mac, and exported PDFs are saved locally.
Estimates depend on the information entered and the scheduling assumptions used. Actual patient responsibility may differ. An estimate is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. This is an administrative tool, not medical advice or an electronic health record.
